How to Delete Your Account

To delete your account and personal data from MamaIWant, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your MamaIWant account
2. Navigate to your Profile by tapping on the profile icon in the bottom navigation bar
3. Scroll down to the “Danger Zone” section
4. Tap on “Delete Data”
5. Choose between “Soft deletion” (anonymize your data) or “Hard deletion” (completely remove your data)
6. Enter your password to confirm
7. Tap “Request Deletion”
8. Check your email for a confirmation link and follow the instructions to complete the deletion process

Account Deletion Options

When you request account deletion, you can choose between two options:

Soft Deletion (Anonymization)

We'll remove all personally identifiable information from your account, including your name and email address. Your wishlists and other content will remain in our system but will be disassociated from your identity. This data is retained for analytical purposes only and cannot be traced back to you.

Hard Deletion (Complete Removal)

We'll permanently delete all your personal data, including your account information, wishlists, and all associated content. This data cannot be recovered once deleted.

Data Retention Periods

After you request deletion, we process your request within 30 days. During this period, your account will be deactivated but not yet deleted. This allows you to change your mind and recover your account if needed.

For legal and security purposes, we may retain certain information in our backup systems for up to 90 days after deletion. This data is not accessible through normal means and is only used in case of legal requirements or security incidents.

If you choose soft deletion, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes, but it cannot be used to identify you or restore your account.
